The Genocide
In 1992, the United States and European Union recognized Bosnia as an independant country. On April 6, 1992, the Serbian military attacked peaceful demonstraters. Five were killed and thirty more wounded.
The following day, a seige began. The roads in and out of Bosnia were blocked off and the airports were closed down. There were food shortages throughout the country and nearly everyone showed signs of malnutrition.
